Growth Mindset: A Growth Mindset is knowing that learning is an ability that can be developed through firmness and hard work ,patterns that contribute to this theory have had a great impact on people's achievements ,goals, and thoughts. Students with Growth mindsets do not fear the “trinity of now” as carol dweck explained but believe in the idea “not yet.” Students like these follow the patterns that contribute to their mindset like , accepts challenges and failures. But for a student who has the idea of “now” has what carol dweck calls a “fixed mindset” which means that they “avoid challenges” and “don't reach their full potential” Looking at both the patterns that develop a fixed mindset and growth mindset it's had a good impact because people now try to have a growth mindset which makes them have a brighter and better future without them having to worry about the past.
Our Art Piece: We wanted to represents a hawk trapped in a cage and a pigeon free , flying up high in the sky. The hawk trapped in a cage is a representation of a fixed mindset because the hawk is faster and thinks its the greatest bird but may think he or she can't fall into a trap easily. The free pigeon is a growth mindset representation because they are slow but take their time and get to their destination and like a growth they reach their full potential. The Art Piece follows the patterns of a growth mindset and fixed mindset and how both are birds but with different characteristic and features now it also contributes on how the brain works but just in a metaphorical way. The art is important because it gives a visual picture on how a growth mindset and fixed mindset feel and how different they are in general.

Reflection: I learned that a person with a fixed mindset gives up when they face challenges but a person with a growth mindset doesn't give up and tries until they succeed when they face challenges and I also learned that many people think oh you're born smart and you can never develop the ability to grow as an individual. I learned how to make paragraphs the way Ms Park wanted them as and of course that's new. My partner and I brainstormed some ideas in the beginning for the art piece and it was difficult at first but then the rest of the project was a breeze because Ms. Park explained how to do the paragraph. Yes, I did learn how to work with others it makes the task more easier. I learned a lot about critical thinking because that was what my partner and I were mostly doing.
F-Fact - One fact about the crucible is that Arthur Miller states that no character who was in the play did not take a similar role in Salem, 1692. I-Internal Connection- While reading about "the Crucible" i felt as if many characters in the play were selfish (like Abigail) while others were innocent and had no reason to die (like Giles). N-New Idea- A new idea that i learned about "the Crucible" is that if a popular person faints so will other people just like when Abigail was pretending to see ghost or demons many of the other girls started to do the same and pretend. D-Decision- A personal decision that i will make based on the reading of "the Crucible" is if there is no proof of someone doing something you cannot just assume they were guilty.
October Reflection: I reached my B for this class but it ended up going down to a 79.4% (a C). I am starting to read multiple books now because a lot of my friends introduce me to some. I need to participate more in class because i'm always watching and not answering problems. One strength that i see myself in class is that i get my work done most of the time which means i don't have homework. One weakness that i see myself in class is i sometimes don't understand what we are supposed to do like when we had to write our thesis statement i was lost, but thanks to Ms. Park she made me understand. I feel like I could improve as a writer because i really like the use of words to express something magnificent. What was challenging to me was the essay because i had to write and rewrite to make it sound better. This was not easy to me but at least i got through it. What i want to work in the month of November is my writing skills. Because i really enjoy writing ever since i was a little girl, i would always write stories when i was bored.
What it means to be American is less about who you are than what you are about, how you live your life, how you contribute to this country, how you pledge allegiance to the flag hoping that it will make room for you. “The American Dream” is the thought that every US citizen should have an equal opportunity to achieve success through hard work.
Poem Emulation In Response to Orange County school districts
Dear Sir: Of course I’ll come. I’ve packed my bags and three packets of avocado seeds. Nubia calls them love limes. My mama says where we’re going they won’t grow.
I am a thirteen-year-old girl with bad spelling and a very messy room. If it helps any, I will tell you I have always felt funny eating tortillas with everything and my favorite food is hot dogs.
My best friend is a white girl named Nubia- we look at boys together. She sat in front of me all through grade school because of our names: O’Brave, Ochoa. I know the back of Nubia’s head very well.
I tell her she’s going crazy. She tells me I copy on tests. We’re best friends.
I saw Nubia today in Geography class. She was sitting on the other side of the room. “You’re mexican,” she said, “my parents say you are dirty and are infected with diseases, they say you put me at risk.”
I didn’t know what to say. I gave her a few avocado seeds and asked her to plant them for me, told her when the first avocado tree started to grow she’d miss me.
